Celebrating Community, Family & Freedom ❤️🤍💙 - Devon P.
On July 3rd, Subaru came together to celebrate the spirit of the 4th of July and, most importantly, the community we are so proud to be a part of. We cooked lunch for anyone who wanted to stop by, Subaru customers, campus employees, and anyone who wanted to share in the celebration. Lunch was on us because we wanted everyone to have a place at the table. We know not everyone has plans for the holiday weekend, and we wanted to make sure everyone had an opportunity to celebrate, connect, and feel included. Even with a busy Friday and temperatures reaching 98 degrees, our team came together and made it happen. At Subaru, we believe in showing up for one another and creating a place where everyone feels welcome. As we celebrated our country and the freedoms we share, we were reminded that some of the best moments come from simply coming together. Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a meal, and celebrated with us. From our Subaru community to yours, we wish you a happy 4th of July! ❤️
Flow Subaru & Blood Cancer United - Small acts of kindness with a lasting impact - Aisha B.
Some of the most meaningful moments don't come from grand gestures—they come from simply showing up for someone who needs to know they aren't alone. That's exactly what our partnership with Flow Subaru Charlottesville represents. Together with the Subaru Love Promise, we had the privilege of visiting the Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center to deliver cozy blankets and care packages to patients and families navigating a blood cancer diagnosis. While a blanket or care package may seem like a small gift, to someone sitting through hours of treatment or supporting a loved one, it can provide comfort, warmth, and a reminder that an entire community is standing beside them. Seeing the smiles, hearing the heartfelt thank-yous, and witnessing those moments of connection is something we'll never take for granted. At Blood Cancer United, we believe no one should face cancer alone. We are so grateful for Flow Subaru Charlottesville's continued partnership and generosity, which allows us to bring comfort, hope, and encouragement directly to the people who need it most. Together, we're doing more than delivering blankets—we're delivering compassion, reminding patients and families that they are seen, supported, and surrounded by a community that truly cares. That is what the Subaru Love Promise is all about, and we're honored to be part of it.
Sharing Comfort Through Subaru Loves to Care 🤗🩵✨ - Devon P.
At Subaru, we believe being part of our community means showing up when it matters most. Through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative, our team had the privilege of visiting patients at the UVA Health Emily Couric Clinical Cancer Center and the UVA Health Cancer Center at Pantops, delivering warm blankets, care kits, and handwritten messages of encouragement. Partnering with Blood Cancer United, this annual event is about offering comfort, hope, and reminding patients that they are never alone in their journey. One of the most meaningful parts of the day was the opportunity to connect with patients, families, and healthcare staff on a personal level. Many shared their own Subaru stories, highlighting the lasting relationships people have with the brand. One patient proudly shared that their Subaru had surpassed 300,000 miles. Another memorable moment came when a nurse recognized members of our team after recently purchasing a new Subaru from our dealership. These conversations were a wonderful reminder that the relationships we build extend far beyond the showroom. Adding even more joy to the day, our beloved French Bulldog mascot, Winston, brought smiles, laughter, and comfort to patients, families, and care teams throughout both cancer centers. Events like Subaru Loves to Care are a reflection of the Subaru Love Promise and our commitment to serving our community with compassion. This year's visit was filled with meaningful conversations, shared stories, and moments of encouragement for patients and their families. We are honored to partner with UVA Health and Blood Cancer United to bring comfort and hope to those undergoing cancer treatment and look forward to continuing this meaningful tradition.
A Day of Green: Celebrating Subaru Loves the Earth💚🌳🌿 - Devon P.
There is something truly special about being part of a team that genuinely cares about the world around us, and this year's Subaru Loves the Earth event reminded me exactly why I am proud to be part of the Subaru family. Partnering with the Arbor Day Foundation, we were excited to give away 100 free trees to locals throughout Charlottesville as a way to give back to our community and help make our environment a little greener. Guests were able to choose from five beautiful tree species; Dogwood, River Birch, Bald Cypress, Sycamore, and Service Berry, and it was amazing seeing so many smiles as people visited our store and took their new trees home. The entire team came together for this special "day of green," proudly wearing our green attire while enjoying sunshine, cool jams on the speakers, and great conversations with our local Subaru owners. The atmosphere throughout the day was full of positivity, laughter, and community spirit. It was more than just an event, it was a chance for all of us to come together and show our love for the Earth in a meaningful way. We truly enjoyed every moment of giving back, and it was a day our team will not forget.
Sharing Care: The EDZONE Community Drive - Colin W.
On the morning of March 4, the Flow Subaru team gathered early, ready to take part in an effort rooted in compassion and community support. The 2026 EdZone Community Drive, launched by former NFL player and community advocate Chris Long, was created to help provide essential supplies for local elementary school students and their families. As the Subaru team made their rounds, they collected three overflowing bins from each store—filled with everyday essentials such as toothpaste for children and adults, toilet paper, body wash for boys and girls, and winter hats and gloves. While these items may seem simple, they represent something much greater: care, comfort, and dignity for families who need them most. When the donations arrived back at the dealership, there was a shared sense of accomplishment among the team. Each item would soon be sorted and distributed through the EdZone Community Drive, ensuring that families could access much-needed hygiene products and cold-weather gear. The initiative supports six local elementary schools in the Charlottesville area, helping students who might otherwise go without these basic necessities. One of the most meaningful aspects of the drive is its commitment to discretion. For many families, asking for help can carry a stigma. The EdZone Community Drive was designed to remove that barrier by providing supplies in a way that allows families to access what they need privately and respectfully. From toothpaste to winter gloves, all items are available at no cost and with no questions asked. The Subaru team worked together to unload and organize the donations, taking pride in knowing their efforts would directly benefit local children. The EdZone Community Drive stands as a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with kindness and purpose. By the end of the event, the bins may have been empty, but the impact will last far beyond the day itself. For the six elementary schools and the families they serve, these small acts of generosity will make a meaningful difference. Thanks to Flow Subaru's participation in the 2026 EdZone Community Drive, many families can feel a little more supported—knowing their community is standing behind them.
Giving Warmth, Building Hope 💙🧥👟 - Devon P.
**Monday, January 12th, 2026** The Subaru team had the privilege of partnering with Piedmont Housing Alliance to celebrate Subaru's community pillar, "Loves to Help." Alongside Operation Warm, we distributed new shoes, socks, and jackets to families in need, reaching more than 200 families throughout the Charlottesville area. I've had the honor of working with Piedmont Housing Alliance for the past three years during our "Loves to Help" events, and it is always such a joy to see our team come together for this cause. From their unwavering dedication to strengthening the community to the constant smiles they share, Piedmont Housing Alliance is a cornerstone of the Charlottesville area. It was truly an honor to once again stand beside them in providing kids with warmth, confidence, and hope. Spending my day giving back to my local community was the highlight of my month. This is why I work for Subaru. While we're proud to offer safe and reliable vehicles, it's the opportunity to help people every single day that makes me genuinely proud to be part of the Subaru family.
Subaru, The Front Porch, and the Power of Music to Build Community 🎶 - Devon P.
Rivanna Roots, a seasonal concert series, brought together families, musicians, and community organizations to celebrate connection, creativity, and culture. At the heart of this event was The Front Porch, a nonprofit based in Charlottesville, VA, dedicated to connecting people through music. And right there alongside them was Subaru, offering more than just support, showing up as an engaged and enthusiastic community partner. Subaru is proud to stand with The Front Porch, whose programs include private and group lessons, open jams, workshops, and performances in styles like folk, bluegrass, and jazz. More than just a music school or concert venue, The Front Porch has become a vital resource for the Charlottesville community, particularly through its Roots & Wings outreach program, which provides free music education to at-risk youth, preschoolers, and seniors. Subaru’s team, JB, Tucker, and Devon, were present throughout the entire Rivanna Roots event, not just as sponsors, but as participants. They handed out fans, hand sanitizer, and ChapStick, but more importantly, they engaged with the community, listening to stories, learning about The Front Porch’s mission, and showing genuine support for the people behind the music. Music, like the vehicles Subaru builds, is a means of exploration — not only of the world but of oneself. Through programs like Roots & Wings, children who might otherwise never have access to instruments or instruction are given a chance to express themselves, build confidence, and find joy. Subaru recognizes that supporting community means showing up in ways that matter, not just with funding, but with presence, intention, and care. In a world that often feels divided, events like Rivanna Roots remind us that community is built through shared experience, and that music has a unique power to unite. Subaru is proud to support The Front Porch in their work and to help create spaces where creativity, expression, and connection can thrive. At Subaru, it's not just about the drive. It’s about "where and how" we show up along the way.💙🎺🎶
Subaru Brings School Supplies and Heartfelt Thanks to Woodbrook Elementary 💜✏️🚌 - Devon P.
As a new school year begins, Subaru paid a special visit to Woodbrook Elementary to show support and appreciation for the amazing educators who make a difference every day. Subaru employees and volunteers arrived with a generous donation of school supplies—everything from notebooks and markers to classroom essentials—meant to help both teachers and students start the year with confidence and support. But they didn’t come empty-handed in spirit, either. Along with the supplies, Subaru presented something meaningful: a notebook filled with heartfelt messages from Subaru team members and Subaru owners. Each note expressed deep gratitude for the hard work, care, and dedication the teachers at Woodbrook show their students every day. “You are true heroes,” one message read. “Your commitment is unmatched, and we could never thank you enough for everything you do.” This visit was part of Subaru’s “Subaru Loves Learning” initiative, focused on supporting education and celebrating teachers. At Woodbrook, it was a moment to remind educators that their efforts are seen and truly appreciated by the entire community. The teachers were touched not only by the supplies, but by the outpouring of kindness and recognition. In a profession that often goes unrecognized, this small gesture made a big impact. To all the teachers at Woodbrook Elementary: thank you. Your passion, patience, and dedication shape the future every single day. From the Subaru family to yours—we are grateful for you, and we appreciate all that you do.💜
Flow Subaru & the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Aisha B.
Flow Subaru, partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, donated 80 blankets and craft kits to patients at UVA Health Center on Thursday. These gifts were more than just physical warmth for patients. The blankets were paired with messages of hope written by Subaru employees and customers. Hospital staff say community support can be a powerful emotional boost. "Having the community come out and share and say, 'Hey, we're behind you' means so much to our patients and their families," said Joncey Wagoner, who works in patient support at UVA Health. Subaru has supported nearly 500,000 cancer patients since 2016 as part of the Subaru Loves to Care program. They also made a $7,500 donation to the pediatric and young adult program. LLS staff partners from our Richmond Market were honored to be there on behalf of their organization, but also to witness such a generous act of kindness. There must have been over 20 or more Flow Subaru staff present. We put together boxes and added personal messages before the employees took them upstairs and delivered to patients. We hope to continue this partnership for many years to come.
Flow Subaru of Charlottesville Teams Up to Support Local Community - Nate R.
Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Charlottesville, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Flow Subaru of Charlottesville is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Flow Subaru of Charlottesville have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. Flow Subaru Visits Ronald McDonald House Charities to Share the Love - Devon P.
At Flow Subaru of Charlottesville, we believe that giving back is more than just an act—it’s part of who we are. As part of Subaru’s annual *Share the Love* event this past December, we were proud to collect donations to support local causes that make a difference in our community. This spring, we had the honor of visiting one of those very special places: the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charlottesville. Our team was warmly welcomed by Executive Director Bryan Harris and Volunteer Service Manager Jake Sites, who took time out of their day to meet with us and personally accept our donation. More than just a drop-off, the visit turned into an inspiring, heartwarming experience we’ll never forget. Bryan and Jake gave us a full tour of the house, walking us through the spaces where families live, gather, rest, and heal. Every corner of the home was filled with warmth, from the cozy furniture to the cheerful children’s artwork decorating the walls. The atmosphere was not only inviting—it radiated compassion, comfort, and care. As we moved through the kitchen, dining areas, playrooms, and private family quarters, we listened to stories of the incredible families who rely on the Ronald McDonald House during some of the most difficult times in their lives. The house serves as a home-away-from-home for families with children receiving critical medical treatment nearby. It provides not just a roof over their heads, but a supportive, healing environment where they can focus on what matters most: being there for their child. Bryan and Jake also shared exciting news about the future. Currently, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charlottesville is building a second house on their property—a major expansion that will allow them to accommodate up to **22 additional families at a time**. The need is great, and their commitment to meeting it is truly inspiring. We also had meaningful conversations about ongoing volunteer opportunities—everything from preparing meals to helping with upkeep and events. It was clear that this house thrives not only on donations but on the love and time given by volunteers from the community. Being able to contribute through Subaru’s *Share the Love* initiative felt more personal and impactful than ever before. Seeing firsthand the care and dedication that Bryan, Jake, and the entire Ronald McDonald House team pour into this mission reminded us why this program is so important. The work they do touches lives in ways that words can’t fully capture. At Flow Subaru, we were honored to deliver our donation—but even more honored to witness the difference it will help make. Supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities is more than just a donation—it’s standing beside families when they need it most. To Bryan, Jake, and everyone at the house: thank you for what you do. And to our community—thank you for helping us Share the Love. 💙
Flow Subaru of Charlottesville Celebrates Earth Day with 100-Tree Giveaway! 🌱💚 - Devon P.
On a Saturday in April, the Flow Subaru family in Charlottesville transformed their service department into a buzzing hub of Earth Day celebration and environmental action. With a strong commitment to sustainability and community, the team rolled up their sleeves and created a cheerful, self-made drive-thru experience to give away 100 young native trees—free to Subaru drivers and nature lovers alike. This exciting event was part of Subaru’s nationwide “Subaru Loves the Earth” initiative, in proud partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. As a company dedicated to making a positive impact, Subaru helped distribute 100,000 trees across the country this year—and Flow Subaru of Charlottesville was thrilled to be a local part of this massive effort to restore green spaces and promote environmental stewardship. From the moment cars began lining up, the energy was high. Team members greeted each vehicle with enthusiasm, handing out native tree saplings—carefully selected to thrive in the Virginia climate—along with limited-edition “Subaru Loves the Earth” pins, custom water bottle stickers, and eco-friendly, plastic-free biodegradable trash bags for each tree recipient. These sustainable giveaways not only celebrated Earth Day but also encouraged everyday eco-conscious habits, helping attendees reduce waste while planting something new. “Happy Earth Day from Flow Subaru of Charlottesville!” echoed throughout the day, as smiling customers received their trees and Earth Day goodies. Some even brought their dogs along for the ride—after all, Subaru events are always pet-friendly! Others shared stories of where they planned to plant their trees: backyards, school gardens, or even community parks. This event wasn't just about trees—it was about community, connection, and shared responsibility. Flow Subaru’s team members were proud to lead by example, reminding everyone that small acts—like planting a single tree or choosing biodegradable alternatives—can ripple out into a powerful impact for generations to come. By the end of the day, every single one of the 100 trees had found a new home. The Flow Subaru staff cheered as the last vehicle drove off with a sapling in tow, knowing they had helped sow the seeds of change—literally. To everyone who participated: THANK YOU. Your commitment to the planet and our local environment made Earth Day 2025 a memorable and meaningful experience. Here’s to cleaner air, more shade, happier wildlife, and a greener future. Until next year, stay rooted in kindness—and keep growing with Flow Subaru of Charlottesville!
A GIFT OF CARE: THE EDZONE COMMUNITY DRIVE - Devon P.
On the morning of March 4th, the Flow Subaru team gathered early, ready to embark on a mission of compassion. The EdZone Community Drive launched by Chris Long, was an initiative aimed at supporting local elementary school students and their families. As the Subaru team made their rounds, they collected three overflowing bins from each store—boxes packed with toothpaste for all ages, toilet paper, body wash for boys and girls, and winter hats and gloves. These donations were more than just items; they were gifts of care, of warmth, and of dignity. For many families in the area, these basic supplies would make a world of difference, easing the burden of everyday struggles. When the bins arrived at the dealership, there was an undeniable sense of satisfaction in the air. Each item would be sorted and distributed through the EdZone Community Drive, which had been designed with the goal of providing discreet access to much-needed hygiene products and weather gear for families. This would be a lifeline to six local elementary schools and their families—children who might otherwise have to go without. What made the drive unique was its focus on discretion. For families in need, there is often a stigma attached to asking for help. The EdZone Community Drive aimed to remove that barrier, allowing students and their families to access hygiene and weather gear without embarrassment. Everything—from the toothpaste to the gloves—would be available for free, with no questions asked. It was about empowering families to meet their basic needs without fear of judgment. The Subaru team worked to unload the bins and organizing the donations. There was a quiet pride in their efforts, knowing that their work would directly benefit the children who would receive these items. The EdZone Community Drive, with its emphasis on both kindness and dignity, was a reminder of what could be achieved when people come together to help others. By the end of the event, the donation bins were emptied, but the impact would last far longer. For the six elementary schools and their families in Charlottesville, the small acts of generosity would mean the world. Thanks to Subaru’s participation in the EdZone Community Drive, these families no longer had to worry about accessing the essentials they needed. The kindness of strangers, in the form of toothpaste, toilet paper, body wash, and winter gear, had made all the difference.
Subaru Partners with Operation Warm to Bring Comfort and Hope to Families in Need - Devon P.
Subaru has long been committed to giving back to communities in need, and its partnership with Operation Warm is a shining example of this dedication. As the largest automotive supporter of the national nonprofit, Subaru has helped provide critical warmth to children across the country through its collaboration with local retailers. Operation Warm’s mission is to offer brand-new coats, shoes, and socks to children in need, ensuring that they not only stay warm but also gain a sense of confidence and hope. In the past 25 years, Operation Warm has impacted over 6 million children, with Subaru and its network of retailers having contributed to over 290,000 of these essential gifts. The Subaru Loves to Help initiative exemplifies the company’s passion for supporting children and families in their communities. A recent Subaru Loves to Help event in Charlottesville, Virginia, in partnership with the Piedmont Housing Alliance, further highlighted this commitment. During this heartwarming event, Flow Subaru team members helped distribute brand-new winter coats, shoes, and socks to 206 families in need. The outpouring of gratitude and joy from the children and families was truly moving, and the Subaru team was honored to be a part of making a meaningful difference. These gifting events not only provide much-needed warmth but also foster a deeper connection to the communities Subaru serves, demonstrating how the company’s values go far beyond selling cars—it's about making a tangible, positive impact on the lives of those who need it most.
Celebrating Independence with Kindness: Flow Subaru's Donation to the Haven - Devon P.
On Fourth of July this year, Kaitlyn and Devon embarked on a journey to The Haven, one of Charlottesville’s cherished local sanctuaries. This day was not just about celebrating independence but also about extending a hand of kindness and support to those in need. With a heart full of goodwill, they carried an assortment of food donations provided by Flow Subaru. Their visit was a testament to the spirit of giving, seamlessly blending holiday cheer with a meaningful gesture of community support. As they arrived at the Haven, Charlottesville’s local sanctuary, known for its dedication to providing a safe and nurturing environment for those it serves, was filled with festive decorations. Kaitlyn and Devon were warmly greeted by the sanctuary’s staff, who were deeply appreciative of the food donations. The contributions, which included a variety of essentials and holiday treats, would make a significant difference in the lives of those the Haven supports. In their own quiet way, Kaitlyn and Devon helped reinforce the values that make the community strong. Their commitment to supporting the Haven reflected a deep respect for the sanctuary's mission and an understanding of the broader impact of their contributions. The day concluded with a sense of fulfillment and gratitude, as Kaitlyn and Devon left the Haven knowing they had made a meaningful impact. Their visit was a beautiful blend of celebration and charity, illustrating how the spirit of giving can enrich both the giver and the receiver. In the heart of Charlottesville, on a day dedicated to freedom, they had demonstrated that the true essence of the holiday lies in coming together to support one another and strengthen the fabric of the community.

Sharing Hope: Flow Subaru's continued Support with Ronald McDonald House - Devon P.
Our Subaru team, led by Shawn, George, Phin, Joe, Devon, and John, embarked on a meaningful journey as part of Subaru's Share the Love program, visiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Charlottesville. Our visit was not just a gesture of goodwill but a testament to Subaru's commitment to supporting communities in need. During our visit, our Subaru team presented a generous donation of $16,000 to RMHC, a contribution gratefully accepted by Alisa Powell, the Chief Executive Officer of RMHC Charlottesville. The day began with a tour of the Ronald McDonald House, where Alisa Powell passionately explained the organization's mission. The House serves as a sanctuary for families facing challenges of having a child receiving treatment for a serious illness or injury. Alisa shared heartwarming stories of how RMHC provides a home-away-from-home, offering comfort, support, and a sense of normalcy during difficult times. As we toured the facility, our Subaru team gained firsthand insight into the daily operations and impact of RMHC. We learned about the comprehensive services provided, from lodging and meals to emotional support programs. The visit was not just educational but deeply moving, as we witnessed the profound difference the Ronald McDonald House makes in the lives of families navigating through health challenges. Alisa also highlighted the crucial role of volunteers in RMHC's operations. We were inspired by the diverse volunteer opportunities available, ranging from meal preparation to organizing activities for children. We saw firsthand how volunteers contribute to creating a supportive environment that alleviates the stress and isolation often experienced by families during their stay. Reflecting on their experience, we, the Subaru team, left RMHC Charlottesville profoundly touched and motivated. We were impressed by the dedication and compassion exhibited by the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that families feel cared for and supported during challenging times. The visit reinforced Subaru's belief in the power of community and its commitment to making a positive impact beyond selling cars, embodying the spirit of Share the Love in its truest sense.
Flow Subaru's Heartwarming Encounter: Tibetan Monks on a Journey for World Peace - Devon P.
On Monday, May 20th, Flow Subaru of Charlottesville experienced an extraordinary event that brought a touch of serenity and inspiration to its premises. Eight Tibetan monks, on their 51st day of a remarkable journey for world peace, made an unexpected stop at the Subaru dealership. The monks are traveling on foot from Florida to Niagara Falls, carrying with them a message of harmony and goodwill. As the monks passed by, George, Joe, and Devon from the Subaru team quickly seized the opportunity to extend a warm welcome. Recognizing the significance of the monks' mission, the Subaru team felt compelled to contribute in any way they could. They sprang into action, assembling a thoughtful care package that included essential items like water, socks, and first-aid supplies, along with an assortment of snacks to sustain the monks on their arduous journey. The monks' visit to Flow Subaru was more than just a brief encounter; it was a moment of connection and mutual respect. The Subaru team, moved by the monks' dedication and peaceful presence, found themselves reflecting on the broader implications of the monks' mission. Being even a small part of such an inspiring journey filled them with a profound sense of gratitude and purpose. As the monks continued on their path, the team at Flow Subaru felt a lingering sense of joy and fulfillment. Their encounter with the monks served as a reminder of the power of kindness and the impact of even the smallest acts of generosity. George, Joe, and Devon were particularly touched by the experience, appreciating the opportunity to support the monks in their quest for world peace. This unexpected meeting not only brought a moment of tranquility to Flow Subaru but also reinforced the values that the dealership strives to embody: community, support, and the pursuit of a better world. The story of the monks and their mission resonated deeply with the Subaru team, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. In the end, the visit of the Tibetan monks to Flow Subaru in Charlottesville was more than a chance encounter; it was a symbol of interconnectedness and shared humanity. This outpouring of support underscores the community's dedication to enhancing the lives of animals in need and ensuring they receive the best possible care. A particularly heartening aspect of the event was the presence of three dogs from the SPCA, all of whom were up for adoption. These furry ambassadors of CASPCA’s mission captured the hearts of attendees, and by the end of the day, each one found a new, loving home! The positive impact of this event on the community was undeniable. Not only did it provide much-needed resources for the animals at CASPCA, but it also raised awareness about the importance of animal adoption and welfare. The successful adoptions and generous donations are a testament to the community’s kindness and willingness to contribute to the well-being of animals in need. In conclusion, the collaborative event on February 17th at the UVA Men's basketball game was a triumph of community spirit and generosity. Through the combined efforts of Flow Subaru, CASPCA, and the local residents, significant contributions were made to support the SPCA’s mission. The love and positive energy shared that day will have a lasting impact, proving that when a community comes together with a shared goal, remarkable things can happen.
Subaru Loves to Help - Operation Warm - Devon P.
On January 18th, the Flow Subaru of Charlottesville team members, Joe, Laura, Josh, George, and I, embarked on a heartwarming journey to bring comfort and joy to our local community. As we distributed over a hundred new winter jackets to underprivileged children, the air was filled with an atmosphere of generosity and compassion. Each coat we handed out was not just a piece of clothing; it was a symbol of safety, warmth, and happiness for the kids. The words "Safe, Warm, Happy, Beautiful" resonated deeply with our team as we witnessed the children's faces light up upon receiving their new coats. These weren't just garments; they were sources of comfort and pride. Subaru and Operation Warm had touched the lives of these children in profound ways, providing them with more than just protection from the cold. These coats were tangible reminders that they were valued, cared for, and deserving of warmth and dignity. With their newfound warmth, these children could venture into the world with confidence, knowing that they were equipped to face whatever challenges came their way. The Flow Subaru team members, alongside the Piedmont Housing Alliance, were honored to play a part in this transformative experience. As we witnessed the profound impact of our actions, we were reminded of the immense power of community and compassion. Through our collective efforts, we had uplifted not only the spirits of the children we served but also the entire community. In the warmth of our shared humanity, we found fulfillment and purpose, knowing that we had made a lasting difference in the lives of those in need.
Ted's Journey Home - Sierra S.
When Flow Subaru of Charlottesville reached out to us at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA with an offer to join forces for Subaru Loves Pets Month, we were elated! Our shelter staff immediately got to work collaborating with Flow for our First Annual SPCA Pet Adoption Day! To build excitement within the community and Subaru customers, we held an “Underdog of the Week” event at the dealership each Wednesday to show off a dog that deserved some time in the spotlight. Joe Diggs, General Sales Manager at Flow Subaru of Charlottesville, spent this hour each week meeting our newest canine and chatting with CASPCA staff. We learned that he had lost his dear dog, Charlie, in May and was considering adoption to fill the hound-size hole left in his family’s hearts. When Joe stopped by the shelter with his wife and two-year-old daughter in-tow, they were instantly charmed by one of our newest arrivals named Ted. Ted had been left on shelter property as a stray and was having a difficult time adjusting to the bustling shelter environment. After just a few minutes of playtime in the courtyard, the Diggs’ knew Ted would be joining the family soon enough. After a successful adoption event on October 14th, where 4/6 dogs in attendance were adopted or sent to foster homes, Ted was officially adopted! According to Joe, things couldn’t be better! “Ted immediately took to our other dogs and our daughter. He enjoys basking in the backyard sun and snuggling, followed by some barking and running laps before sliding back in his spot under your arm. We love Ted and he has been a member of our family since the moment he walked through the door. Thank you to the CASPCA for forming a relationship and changing our family’s life for the better!” Ted truly found his perfect match! We are so thankful to Flow Subaru of Charlottesville for all their support and generosity. They donated a total of $3,100 throughout the month of October and have even contributed to our Critter Ball Online Auction with a gift basket donation! We cannot thank you enough for helping all our furry friends in Charlottesville!
Awesome job Chris! - Brooke S.
Our very own Chris Stonecipher went above and beyond to help a sweet customer today. Ms. Parrish showed up with the check engine light on in her Crosstrek hybrid that she recently bought at CarMax. Ms. Parrish is handicapped and needed to have her wheelchair and her tea-cup poodle, “Pumpkin,” taken out of the car. Unable to walk, Chris drove her down the hill to the service lounge, got her set up in the wheelchair, and wheeled her into the lounge. It turns out, she had a warranty and was able to get her repairs completed the same day without paying anything out-of-pocket. We installed the parts and test drove the car with success. Chris then invoiced the ticket, dealt with the warranty payment, and drove down and picked up Ms. Parrish. He helped her load into the car, got Pumpkin situated, and then Ms. Parrish was ready to head home! After getting situated in the car she did mention that there were some things in her vehicle that she didn’t know how to operate. Chris gladly spent the extra time showing her how to work the items she needed help with. After all of this, Ms. Parrish left in a great mood and was very grateful for all of the help from Chris and the rest of the Flow Subaru of Charlottesville team! Chris went above and beyond during this time to show Ms. Parrish extra compassion to ensure she was kept safe, comfortable, and that all her concerns were addressed. Great job Chris!
