Flow Subaru & the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Aisha B
Flow Subaru, partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, donated 80 blankets and craft kits to patients at UVA Health Center on Thursday. These gifts were more than just physical warmth for patients. The blankets were paired with messages of hope written by Subaru employees and customers. Hospital staff say community support can be a powerful emotional boost. "Having the community come out and share and say, 'Hey, we're behind you' means so much to our patients and their families," said Joncey Wagoner, who works in patient support at UVA Health. Subaru has supported nearly 500,000 cancer patients since 2016 as part of the Subaru Loves to Care program. They also made a $7,500 donation to the pediatric and young adult program. LLS staff partners from our Richmond Market were honored to be there on behalf of their organization, but also to witness such a generous act of kindness. There must have been over 20 or more Flow Subaru staff present. We put together boxes and added personal messages before the employees took them upstairs and delivered to patients. We hope to continue this partnership for many years to come.

Flow Subaru Visits Ronald McDonald House Charities to Share the Love - Devon P
At Flow Subaru of Charlottesville, we believe that giving back is more than just an act—it’s part of who we are. As part of Subaru’s annual *Share the Love* event this past December, we were proud to collect donations to support local causes that make a difference in our community. This spring, we had the honor of visiting one of those very special places: the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charlottesville. Our team was warmly welcomed by Executive Director Bryan Harris and Volunteer Service Manager Jake Sites, who took time out of their day to meet with us and personally accept our donation. More than just a drop-off, the visit turned into an inspiring, heartwarming experience we’ll never forget. Bryan and Jake gave us a full tour of the house, walking us through the spaces where families live, gather, rest, and heal. Every corner of the home was filled with warmth, from the cozy furniture to the cheerful children’s artwork decorating the walls. The atmosphere was not only inviting—it radiated compassion, comfort, and care. As we moved through the kitchen, dining areas, playrooms, and private family quarters, we listened to stories of the incredible families who rely on the Ronald McDonald House during some of the most difficult times in their lives. The house serves as a home-away-from-home for families with children receiving critical medical treatment nearby. It provides not just a roof over their heads, but a supportive, healing environment where they can focus on what matters most: being there for their child. Bryan and Jake also shared exciting news about the future. Currently, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Charlottesville is building a second house on their property—a major expansion that will allow them to accommodate up to **22 additional families at a time**. The need is great, and their commitment to meeting it is truly inspiring. We also had meaningful conversations about ongoing volunteer opportunities—everything from preparing meals to helping with upkeep and events. It was clear that this house thrives not only on donations but on the love and time given by volunteers from the community. Being able to contribute through Subaru’s *Share the Love* initiative felt more personal and impactful than ever before. Seeing firsthand the care and dedication that Bryan, Jake, and the entire Ronald McDonald House team pour into this mission reminded us why this program is so important. The work they do touches lives in ways that words can’t fully capture. At Flow Subaru, we were honored to deliver our donation—but even more honored to witness the difference it will help make. Supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities is more than just a donation—it’s standing beside families when they need it most. To Bryan, Jake, and everyone at the house: thank you for what you do. And to our community—thank you for helping us Share the Love. 💙
Flow Subaru of Charlottesville Celebrates Earth Day with 100-Tree Giveaway! 🌱💚 - Devon P
On a Saturday in April, the Flow Subaru family in Charlottesville transformed their service department into a buzzing hub of Earth Day celebration and environmental action. With a strong commitment to sustainability and community, the team rolled up their sleeves and created a cheerful, self-made drive-thru experience to give away 100 young native trees—free to Subaru drivers and nature lovers alike. This exciting event was part of Subaru’s nationwide “Subaru Loves the Earth” initiative, in proud partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. As a company dedicated to making a positive impact, Subaru helped distribute 100,000 trees across the country this year—and Flow Subaru of Charlottesville was thrilled to be a local part of this massive effort to restore green spaces and promote environmental stewardship. From the moment cars began lining up, the energy was high. Team members greeted each vehicle with enthusiasm, handing out native tree saplings—carefully selected to thrive in the Virginia climate—along with limited-edition “Subaru Loves the Earth” pins, custom water bottle stickers, and eco-friendly, plastic-free biodegradable trash bags for each tree recipient. These sustainable giveaways not only celebrated Earth Day but also encouraged everyday eco-conscious habits, helping attendees reduce waste while planting something new. “Happy Earth Day from Flow Subaru of Charlottesville!” echoed throughout the day, as smiling customers received their trees and Earth Day goodies. Some even brought their dogs along for the ride—after all, Subaru events are always pet-friendly! Others shared stories of where they planned to plant their trees: backyards, school gardens, or even community parks. This event wasn't just about trees—it was about community, connection, and shared responsibility. Flow Subaru’s team members were proud to lead by example, reminding everyone that small acts—like planting a single tree or choosing biodegradable alternatives—can ripple out into a powerful impact for generations to come. By the end of the day, every single one of the 100 trees had found a new home. The Flow Subaru staff cheered as the last vehicle drove off with a sapling in tow, knowing they had helped sow the seeds of change—literally. To everyone who participated: THANK YOU. Your commitment to the planet and our local environment made Earth Day 2025 a memorable and meaningful experience. Here’s to cleaner air, more shade, happier wildlife, and a greener future. Until next year, stay rooted in kindness—and keep growing with Flow Subaru of Charlottesville!
A GIFT OF CARE: THE EDZONE COMMUNITY DRIVE - Devon P
On the morning of March 4th, the Flow Subaru team gathered early, ready to embark on a mission of compassion. The EdZone Community Drive launched by Chris Long, was an initiative aimed at supporting local elementary school students and their families. As the Subaru team made their rounds, they collected three overflowing bins from each store—boxes packed with toothpaste for all ages, toilet paper, body wash for boys and girls, and winter hats and gloves. These donations were more than just items; they were gifts of care, of warmth, and of dignity. For many families in the area, these basic supplies would make a world of difference, easing the burden of everyday struggles. When the bins arrived at the dealership, there was an undeniable sense of satisfaction in the air. Each item would be sorted and distributed through the EdZone Community Drive, which had been designed with the goal of providing discreet access to much-needed hygiene products and weather gear for families. This would be a lifeline to six local elementary schools and their families—children who might otherwise have to go without. What made the drive unique was its focus on discretion. For families in need, there is often a stigma attached to asking for help. The EdZone Community Drive aimed to remove that barrier, allowing students and their families to access hygiene and weather gear without embarrassment. Everything—from the toothpaste to the gloves—would be available for free, with no questions asked. It was about empowering families to meet their basic needs without fear of judgment. The Subaru team worked to unload the bins and organizing the donations. There was a quiet pride in their efforts, knowing that their work would directly benefit the children who would receive these items. The EdZone Community Drive, with its emphasis on both kindness and dignity, was a reminder of what could be achieved when people come together to help others. By the end of the event, the donation bins were emptied, but the impact would last far longer. For the six elementary schools and their families in Charlottesville, the small acts of generosity would mean the world. Thanks to Subaru’s participation in the EdZone Community Drive, these families no longer had to worry about accessing the essentials they needed. The kindness of strangers, in the form of toothpaste, toilet paper, body wash, and winter gear, had made all the difference.

Subaru has long been committed to giving back to communities in need, and its partnership with Operation Warm is a shining example of this dedication. As the largest automotive supporter of the national nonprofit, Subaru has helped provide critical warmth to children across the country through its collaboration with local retailers. Operation Warm’s mission is to offer brand-new coats, shoes, and socks to children in need, ensuring that they not only stay warm but also gain a sense of confidence and hope. In the past 25 years, Operation Warm has impacted over 6 million children, with Subaru and its network of retailers having contributed to over 290,000 of these essential gifts. The Subaru Loves to Help initiative exemplifies the company’s passion for supporting children and families in their communities. Our Subaru team, led by Shawn, George, Phin, Joe, Devon, and John, embarked on a meaningful journey as part of Subaru's Share the Love program, visiting the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Charlottesville. Our visit was not just a gesture of goodwill but a testament to Subaru's commitment to supporting communities in need. During our visit, our Subaru team presented a generous donation of $16,000 to RMHC, a contribution gratefully accepted by Alisa Powell, the Chief Executive Officer of RMHC Charlottesville. The day began with a tour of the Ronald McDonald House, where Alisa Powell passionately explained the organization's mission. The House serves as a sanctuary for families facing challenges of having a child receiving treatment for a serious illness or injury. Alisa shared heartwarming stories of how RMHC provides a home-away-from-home, offering comfort, support, and a sense of normalcy during difficult times. As we toured the facility, our Subaru team gained firsthand insight into the daily operations and impact of RMHC. We learned about the comprehensive services provided, from lodging and meals to emotional support programs. The visit was not just educational but deeply moving, as we witnessed the profound difference the Ronald McDonald House makes in the lives of families navigating through health challenges. Alisa also highlighted the crucial role of volunteers in RMHC's operations. We were inspired by the diverse volunteer opportunities available, ranging from meal preparation to organizing activities for children. We saw firsthand how volunteers contribute to creating a supportive environment that alleviates the stress and isolation often experienced by families during their stay. Reflecting on their experience, we, the Subaru team, left RMHC Charlottesville profoundly touched and motivated. We were impressed by the dedication and compassion exhibited by the staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that families feel cared for and supported during challenging times. The visit reinforced Subaru's belief in the power of community and its commitment to making a positive impact beyond selling cars, embodying the spirit of Share the Love in its truest sense.

Eight Tibetan monks, on their 51st day of a remarkable journey for world peace, made an unexpected stop at the Subaru dealership. The monks are traveling on foot from Florida to Niagara Falls, carrying with them a message of harmony and goodwill. As the monks passed by, George, Joe, and Devon from the Subaru team quickly seized the opportunity to extend a warm welcome.
